How do I get ready for my video visit?

Once you schedule a video visit, you will be asked to test your audio and video quality. If both are functioning properly, your computer has passed the test and you can proceed with video visits.

What should I do if I need to reschedule a visit?

You should login to the Med and Beyond App and click “reschedule appointment”.

How long will it take for the doctor to start my video visit?

We will call you when it is time for your visit. It will take the doctor 1-3 minutes to join the visit.

Is Med and Beyond HIPAA Compliant?

Yes, Med and Beyond is HIPAA compliant and our electronic medical records are held in a private electronic health records system.

Do you share my information?

No, we do not share your information.

Can I delete my information?

Yes you can delete your information, if required.

Can a doctor on Med and Beyond order lab tests for me?

Yes, the doctor at Med and Beyond can recommend labs, if they feel there is a medical necessity. The lab request form can be brought to any private laboratory at the patients’ expense.

Can I get a sick slip or doctor's note from Med and Beyond?

Yes, it is possible to receive a sick note at the discretion of the med and beyond physician.

What should I do if I am experiencing a medical emergency?

If you think or have any doubt that you are experiencing a medical emergency, you should immediately seek emergency care by calling 911, or any other emergency service.

How long is a video doctor visit?

The length of the doctor visit will depend on the nature of the complaint and treatment needed. The average visit is usually a few minutes.

Does the doctor review my medical history before a visit?

Yes, the doctor will review the information you have filled out on the application and review the information you provided on the chat bot.

What happens if the doctor cannot solve my issue?

Some medical issues cannot be finalized on one visit or one a tele- health video visit. The Med and Beyond physician may need to refer you to another physician or acute care provider in certain situations

How do I approach the same doctor to consult again or after some time?

We may not be able to guarantee that you will see the same physician again, each physician will have access to all the information from your previous visit.

Can a doctor on Med and Beyond prescribe medication?

Yes, the Med and Beyond physician can provide a prescription online, if they feel there is a medical necessity. There are several important exceptions; narcotics such as Percocet or oxycontin for example. cannot be prescribed online. Other medications that require close monitoring such as antipsychotics or stimulants may also not be prescribed. Yes, you can get a prescription online, however there are several exceptions, depending on your medical condition and the type of medication.

Can I get a new prescription or refill a prescription through Med and Beyond?

Yes, the med and beyond physician can refill your prescriptions. Our chatbot will help guide you through this process.

Can a doctor on Med and Beyond order lab tests for me?

The doctor may refer you and advise you to perform lab tests.

Will my primary care provider (PCP) be notified about my Med and Beyond visit?

At this point in time, we do not have direct contact with your family physician.
